In Colorado Springs, July 2nd through the 6th
In July fifty of the best Cadets and Juniors will attend the 2008 Olympic
Training Camp to receive instruction from some of America’s most knowledgeable
Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Collegiate coaches nationally. The National Coaches
Education Program will host a Silver Level Coaches College as a part of this
impressive week of wrestling.
Coaches who have already received Bronze Certification may attend the Silver
Coaches College. Space for the Coaches College is very restricted; consequently
coaches should submit their applications quickly.
Only 30 coaches can be accepted for the college that will run Tuesday, July 2nd
to Saturday, July 6th. The cost for the week is only $400 and includes housing
at a nearby hotel, and meals at the athlete-dining hall at the Olympic Training
Center. Coaches that would like to commute to the clinic sessions need to pay
only $275: (cost does not include housing and meals).
During the week coaches will be a part of instructional sessions that will help
them advance to the elite Silver Level of the National Coaches Education
Program. Coaches will also have access to the training of elite Olympic and
Senior Level wrestlers, as well as the clinic sessions for the Cadets and
Juniors in attendance for the 2008 Training Camp.
Coaches will gain insight on the sport of wrestling from USA Wrestling’s National
Coaching Staff, including Olympic Champions Kevin Jackson, and Steve Fraser, as
well as Olympic Bronze Medallist Lincoln McIlravy. Additionally, coaches in
attendance will meet and learn from top level NCAA coaches who will instruct at
the 2008 Training Camp. Many of the nation’s top college coaches will help
teach America’s future Olympians!
