Girl's Wrestling Clinic by World Champion Tricia Saunders Presented by NYAC
Tricia Saunders has been called “the grand dame of women’s wrestling” in the US. She is certainly the most accomplished, having won three gold medals at the World Championships in 1992, 1996 and 1998 – more than any other US woman. In addition, she holds the honor of having the most US women’s national titles with eight.
Tricia will present a one hour clinic between the Senior Women's Freestyle and Senior Men's Greco rounds at the 2007 NYAC Wrestling Championships Tournament, held at the New York Atheletic Club (NYAC) in New York City, NY, from Noon to 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 17th.
This is a tremendous opportunity for our young wrestlers in the Northeast to see some of the best wrestlers in the world, both women and men, compete. The clinic with one of the great US freestyle wrestlers is an added bonus. To be clear, even though the clinician is a woman and we hope to see many of our female wrestlers there, the freestyle wrestling and training techniques are just as applicable to male wrestlers as they are to female wrestlers! I hope to see many of you there for a day of great wrestling all around. If you can stay or make it to the NYAC on Sunday, you can catch the Senior Men's Freestyle tournament.
