USA Wrestling Officials Association, Wesleyan University Wrestling  room

THIS COURSE IS ONLY FOR OFFICIALS THAT HAVE BEEN USAWCT OFFICIALS IN PRIOR YEARS

Must sign up and pay the $20.00 by September 1, 2010, in order to qualify to do the Clinic on September 19, 2010. Check payable to USAWCT, mail to Mark Cammisa, 21 Aunt Hack Road, Danbury, CT. 06811.

Clinic is Sunday September 19, 2010, Noon to approximately 3:00 pm, Fee for Clinic & test is $35.00.

 

Thanks for your interest in renewing your USAWCT Official’s membership.  Please send a note to Mark Cammisa, 21 Aunt Hack Road, Danbury, CT. 06811 with a check payable to USAWCT for $20.00, then Mark will send you a  rulebook and casebook. You will need to get the rulebook and casebook, before September 1, 2010 to insure that you have adequate time to review these books to pass the exam. A true/false exam will be given to potential officials at 3:00 PM on Sunday September 19, 2010 at Wesleyan University. You will need a score of 85% or better to pass the exam, it will be an open book exam with a one and half hour time limit. Please be aware the full cost of membership, rule book, case book and exam totals $55.00.

USA Wrestling- CT will be offering a USWOA Certification RENEWAL course on Sunday September 19, 2010 at Wesleyan University, Freeman Athletic Center 161 Cross Street, Middletown, CT. 06459-0265 wrestling room, registration will begin at 11:45 am, the course will start at noon and will include with an exam at approximately 2:00 pm, which will take about 45 minutes.

BACK GROUND CHECK REQUIRED: If you are over 18 as of December 31, 2010, you must register on line for your membership and back ground check process at http://www.themat.com/membership/.
The course fee for Officials is $35.00, payable to USAWCT, cost associated with this course, if you take the exam, and there is no fee to just watch. This Clinic is only available to Returning Officials, no exceptions will be allowed to take the exam.

This Certification Clinic is designed to 1) certify USWOA Officials to objectively officiate USA Wrestling CT Youth Tournaments 2) increase coaches and athletes knowledge of the current High School rules.

To achieve certification prospects must attend a USA wrestling sanctioned USWOA Clinic, successfully pass an on-site examination (the rule book is allowed to be used during this EXAM), The exam will consist of fifty questions. Participants must receive an 85% or better grade on the test to be certified as an official. This clinic will be conducted by, USAW-CT Officials Director. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, the Official Director will e-mail you that you are authorized to go to the web site and do the required back ground check process, if you did not do one last year.

If under 18 as of  December 31, 2010,  USAWCT will submit your application and pay your 2010-2011 annual dues to USWOA. Officials will be compensated at such events in the sum of $15.00 per hour. YOU MUST USE THE USAWCT WEB SITE to sign up for events to officiate. The better you do on the exam will increase your opportunities to officiate events. In addition, you must sign up on the web site as soon as possible to insure your possible selection to officiate events.

It is your responsibility to inform USAWCT as to any changes to your e-mail address, failure to comply with these rule shall result in your not getting assigned. When you are informed that you have passed the exam, you will be required to select the tournaments that you want to officiate at least four weeks prior to the events. You will be informed by a posting on the usawct.org web site as to which tournaments you are assigned, not one is assigned to all tournaments requested, therefore you must review the site to verify any assignments.

When officials achieve USWOA Certification they receive the USA Wrestling billfold card to record your participation in any USA Wrestling event(s).The USAW-CT Officials Certification Program.
